Founded in 1946 by René Gouron the ESTATE developped with the help of their son, Jacky, into the eighties.

At this time the 2 grandsons,
LAURENT and STEPHANE
who managed the 70 acres of the property.

Classified in Appellation CHINON Contrôlée the GOURON ESTATE is divided in various types of soils  :

• Clay-Chalky and Clay-siliceous,on the slope.
• Gravel,on the plains.

The diversity of the soils make it various taste to the wine,
FRUITY on the plain and FULL-BODIED on the slope.

Throughout the year we monitor the growth of the vines to make sure we get the best results : To control the quantity and the level of concentration, we restrict the height of the vines, allow the grass to grow between the rows and reduce foliage wich helps ripen the grapes and good environmently.

The caves extend for several meters into the hillside and offer a perfect conditions for ageing and the storage.
